Revenue Cycle Support Representative

Cranberry, PA

This entry level Revenue Cycle position provides support, performs tasks, and works on special projects related to various revenue cycle functions. The Revenue Cycle Support Representative is responsible for supporting efficient Revenue Cycle operations.

Essential Functions

  • Answer company main phone line and direct calls where needed.
  • Maintain responsibility for medical records support functions while following medical records policies and procedures.
  • Respond to request for medical records and process requests timely via paper or electronic media.
  • Obtain and/or verify that authorization for release of medical records has been received.
  • Pull medical records on request and complete tracking in an accurate and confidential manner.
  • Photocopy records and documents for billing or legal services.
  • Maintain appropriate medical records filing and archive system to ensure the expeditious retrieval of information.
  • Create and send medical records invoices and track payments.
  • Comply with federal HIPAA regulations and practice policies for the privacy and security of patient information; explain the law and our privacy policy to patients as needed; maintain appropriate documentation of access to medical records
  • Serve as support staff for Revenue Cycle Staff.
  • Scan correspondence in to EMR system.
  • Open and sort company mail.
  • Prepare all outgoing mail and accept incoming parcels.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or required.

Qualifications and Skills

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; post-secondary education a plus.
  • Detail-oriented with impeccable organizational, workflow, and follow-up skills.
  • Ability to read and understand the information provided on EOB’s, remittance advices, and other insurance correspondence.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Effective customer service skills with the ability to interact with both internal and external customers, i.e. insurance payors, Patient Care Coordinators and therapists in a professional manner.
  • Ability to prioritize work, handling daily and multiple tasks to completion within the time allotted, while working as part of a team within a demanding environment.
  • Detail-oriented with impeccable organizational, workflow, and follow-up skills.
  • Possesses working knowledge of the operation of printers, scanners, postage meters, fax machines, copy machines, and other office equipment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools with a sharp technical aptitude.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
