If desired by employers or physicians our Physical and
Occupational Therapists will provide worker safety in-services. The
purpose of these in-services is to provide the employer and
employees with the opportunity to learn injury prevention
techniques specific to job tasks. These in-services include
instruction in proper posture and positioning for static work
stations, instruction in proper lifting techniques, instruction in
hand/wrist injury prevention and care, supervisor training and work
station exercises. Emphasis is placed on teaching the employee what
he or she must do to prevent injury, as opposed to what the
employer must do. We believe that this fosters an active role by
employees regarding injury prevention. When possible, these
in-services are customized to specific job descriptions and work
stations as directed by the employer.
