PROFESSIONAL PHILOSOPHY...

“Physical Therapy is an ever evolving field with new treatment options and techniques. Staying current with literature and education allows me to know that I am giving each patient the best care available. Each Physical Therapy evaluation is specific to each patient, as no two people are the same. Treating each patient individually allows efficient and optimal return to function.”

PATIENT CARE PHILOSOPHY...

“With the individual patient being the center of care, their participation in all aspects of rehabilitation is required. Constant dialogue regarding symptoms and functional complaints are imperative to keep therapy focused on their goals. The goals for rehabilitation are specific to each patient. With that in mind, each course of treatment varies. Therapy is concluded when each patient has control of their symptoms and is able to self manage them through self treatment and exercise.”

Amy joined the PHOENIX Rehabilitation and Health Services team in June of 2000, as a staff Physical Therapist at the Mansfield facility. She has continued to pursue further education and received a doctorate in physical therapy from Drexel University. Outside the clinic, she and her husband Jim live locally in Mansfield. They are currently enjoying life with their first child Ella who was born in July 2004 and welcomed twin girls, Addison and Madalyn in July 2006.

PROFESSIONAL PHILOSOPHY...

“I have found physical therapy to be an exciting and constantly changing profession. I enjoy being challenged to stay current with the latest evidence-based interventions which assist me in providing the highest quality of care and allows my clients to achieve their optimal level of function.”

PATIENT CARE PHILOSOPHY...

“I like to think of myself as a teacher as well as a physical therapist. I often tell my clients I want to teach them to be their own therapist. I strongly believe we must all take responsibility for our own health to the extent we are able. This is through active learning about one’s condition, as well as, active participation in one’s own rehabilitation program, which is essential for success. At the conclusion of a therapy program, it is my intention that each client will have achieved their own therapy related goals and will have a better knowledge of their own condition and long-term self-management.”

Joyce joined PHOENIX Rehabilitation and Health Services in August 2008, acting as a staff physical therapist at the Mansfield outpatient facility. Joyce’s specialties include the treatment of neurologic and orthopaedic disorders with a particular interest in geriatric patients. Currently Joyce resides in Mansfield with her husband Paul.
